Coverage response matrix
GL is not the whole creator insurance answer.
Creators can have premises/event risk, cyber risk, professional advice risk, and media publishing risk. The trick is knowing which policy is supposed to answer which allegation.
| Claim scenario | Media liability | E&O | Cyber | GL |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Defamation / product disparagement | Primary | Possible if advice/service related | No | Usually no |
| Copyright or IP infringement | Primary if included | Sometimes | No | Limited/uncertain |
| Right of publicity / likeness | Primary if included | No | No | Usually no |
| Privacy claim from published content | Primary | Possible | Possible if data event | Usually no |
| FTC / sponsored content allegation | Depends on wording | Possible | No | No |
| Paid coaching or course advice harm | Maybe | Primary | No | No |
| Account compromise or data breach | No | No | Primary | No |
| Someone injured at a shoot/event | No | No | No | Primary |
Matrix is directional, not coverage advice. Actual response depends on form wording, exclusions, endorsements, facts, jurisdiction, and whether the underwriter knew what the creator actually does.
